RECENT WORK
The BARk-AID
The Bark-Aid is the beginning of a long-lasting dream coming to life. I was first approached by the owner and friend of mine about the idea of a great place where people could bring their dogs for amazing attention and an all-around fun time over two years ago. Recently Mike the owner had reached out to me about starting his LLC, website, branding, business cards, photography, editing, social media, and merchandise. Aside from the logo I have gotten all these things off the ground and while still in its infancy The Bark-Aid is gaining traction fast! You can see the website at TheBark-Aid.com and find the social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Katie had reached out to commission me for this cover art. She explained she had been so busy with the album and had no real idea for a direction for the cover. After hearing a few tracks and being floored by her talent I knew I had to match the soul and depth of her latest album visually. It is difficult to setup photoshoots on the fly when you are 3000 miles apart but this older picture from her social profile worked perfectly to capture the amount of emotion she brought to the music. The double exposure worked perfectly to display The clouded thoughts as well as a flow of emotion and lyricism she puts forth. Originally, the repeating text was left out and I set that up to show her different options for display type. We both stopped in our tracks at that point and agreed it was perfect.

J Andrew’s album cover for
“Falling Awake wide asleep”
This album is amazing and deserved something unique for the cover. The themes of the album I felt went along with what many of us were feeling at the end of 2021. Like we fell asleep in 2019 and woke up in a parallel universe and nothing felt quite right. This is a composite I did where I used multiple photo elements to create almost a kind of fever dream landscape with personal symbolism to the artist included as well.

Branded Album MOCKUP
T-Shirt design
This job came up on the fly. I had just wrapped up a few other projects and saw the original ad for the show and thought I could really take it up a notch. I had been working with some animations lately and thought it was a perfect time to put those skills to use. I grabbed the logo from the venue website and gathered the information from the shows original post. With no photo options available I grabbed a photo of the headliners together from Katie’s social media. I was able to do some retouching to give it a sunset feel and mask out the subjects. I had found the animation in a stock photo library which was absolutely perfect with the photo and on brand with the Cult Music tagline “We Are The Wave”.

Bastard The ENEMY ALBUM COVER.
This was a great project for me to work on. Jeff has been making punk music for years and this was his official break through into hip hop. His only specifications was that he wanted the title to resemble the Stranger Things logo only with horns at the top. Given the themes and butality of his lyrics and background I envisioned something cataclysmic and dark. This is a composite image I put together and fine tuned for his smashing debut.
Bastard The Enemy Branded T-Shirt
I honestly loved this project so much I really wanted the T shirt design to be perfectly aligned with both the theme of the album and Stranger Things art as well. Taking inspiration from a piece of merch made to look like a VHS tape from the 80’s I kept the color scheme and the text effects as well as the backlit silhouette. In the original art It it the Demogorgon’s silhouette so I created a similar effect making Jeff the monster on the mic.
SAN DIABLO ALL STARS COVER ART
This project was probably one of the most special projects I have had the pleasure of doing. Not only am I extremely happy with the outcome as was the group, they continue to crush it and were nominated best hip hop/ rap artists by the San Diego Music Awards in 2022. That gives one more nomination to a great friend and influence in my life Van Bates after he won best album last year with a solo project and sadly passed away.
