Editing Photos

Finally being able to edit the photos I have taken through the year. It’s been interesting and strange but also really fun. We are always shown things by nature for a reason. There are always little signs, nods, things that pop out to tell you or teach you things. It’s impossible to walk by something like this and not appreciate the color, symmetry, contrast, and unity. I was compelled to take photos and it was a joy to edit. I had to look it up and know more about it.

The Camellia flower is a stunning bloom that is known for its rich colors and delicate petals. Typically characterized by a symmetrical shape, the flowers can be single, semi-double, or double, revealing a variety of petal arrangements. The petals are often waxy, which adds to their elegance and durability.

Camellias come in numerous shades, including white, pink, red, and even variegated forms, making them versatile for various gardens and landscapes. The leaves are dark green and glossy, providing a beautiful contrast to the softer hues of the flowers. They are evergreen, which means they retain their foliage throughout the year, enhancing the visual appeal of the plant, even when not in bloom.

These flowers typically bloom in late winter to spring, attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies. They thrive in well-drained, acidic soil and prefer partial shade, making them suitable for woodland gardens or shaded patios. The Camellia is not only admired for its beauty but also for its cultural significance, often symbolizing love and admiration in various traditions.

Last year I had a great time working to create immersive experiences in a local botanical garden. We did activations throughout the garden for Halloween and Christmas, which were amazing. The park itself offers some beautiful scenery and infinite photo opportunities.
